Whilst I prefer to work on the larger side, I’m also challenging myself to create some smaller pieces on wooden panels this year.

Rather than downsizing a vase arrangement I’ve tried to imagine these smaller boards as sections or snippets of a larger piece, which I think works better proportionally.

The slightly sickly-sweet and sentimental title of this piece comes from the quote by Fred Astaire, who features in this work, “And that love that wrinkles your nose touches my foolish heart”.
