NEW WORK LAUNCHING AT THE OTHER ART FAIR
I was thrilled when I heard only a few weeks ago that my application to The Other Art Fair at the Truman Brewery in London had been successful. Being such a prestigious art fair, presented by Saatchi Art, I was somewhat shocked to have been accepted but nonetheless very excited to make a start on some new pieces.
Although it has been a very busy few weeks juggling the art and my wedding flower business I have completed 5 new originals, all in my usual style incorporating bold and bright florals with found images and graffiti-inspired references.
Whilst the florals are still the main focus I specifically wanted to work more into the background layers and have included a variety of found ephemera including old musical score sheets, vintage French certificates, 1970’s sewing patterns and even some very glamorous Hollywood stars from the ‘50’s and ‘60’s make an appearance!
If you are in the vicinity of the Truman Brewery on Brick Lane from the 13th - 16th October (ie next week!!) please do pop along to stand 127 and say hello. There’s over 150 artists taking part so should be something for everyone. I still have a few tickets so please get in touch and I’ll send you a code for free entry. All bookings are via The Other Art Fair website.
If you can’t make it, don’t worry, I’ll report back here and on social media detailing how it all went.
Can’t quite believe this time next week I’ll be there and almost ready to pack up!
